During the Heyday of the Arts and Crafts movement in America, Charles and Henry Greene took an intensely artistic approach to the design of houses and interiors, creating some of the most beautiful residences in the history of domestic architecture. GREENE & GEENE, The Art of Architecture chronicles the lives of these remarkable brothers, from their early efforts to blend American, European and Asian design concepts, through the creation of their masterworks of the years 1907 - 1910, to the independent projects of their latter years. The production features more than fifteen residences, including the Blacker and Gamble houses in Pasadena, the Adelaide Tichenor house in Long Beach, the Charles Pratt house in Ojai, the William Thorsen house in Berkeley, the D.L. James house in Carmel, and the Walter Richardson house in Porterville.

The documentary also examines the Greenes' passionate interest in creating fully planned living environments. Woodwork, furniture, lighting fixtures, tile, rugs, and art glass are all included. Written and produced by Emmy Award-winning producer Paul Bockhorst, the documentary features comments by several noted authorities, including Edward Bosley, Randell Makinson, Robert Judson Clark, and Bruce Smith.

Produced by Paul Bockhorst Productions in association with The Society of Architectural Historians, Southern California Chapter.
