Atchison St., Orange Chapman University's new Hilbert Museum of California Art will open its doors for the first time with a Grand Opening and Open House for the campus community and the public with an evening event welcoming the arts community and the public. Come and discover the fascinating world of California Scene painting, a genre which explores the beauty of the Golden State while also showing the history of California's people from the 1920s to today: towns and cities, farms and ranches, marinas, factories, train stations, parks, freeways and the lure of the open road. Come and explore the Hilbert Museum's first exhibition, showcasing a colorful survey of California Scene painting and featuring acclaimed artists Emil Kosa Jr., Lee Blair, Mary Blair, Millard Sheets, Phil Dike, Fletcher Martin, Rex Brandt, Phil Paradise, Milford Zornes and many more.
