Virginia Tonetti Biography
Virginia Tonetti (1920- ) Born: Magna, Utah. Studied: Frank Wiggins Trade School (Los Angeles). Virginia Tonetti grew up in Utah and California. During the 1930’s, she attended a trade school where she studied art. This led to a job at the Moore Advertising Agency doing illustration work. In 1941, she went to Douglas Aircraft in Los Angeles and helped in the war effort by producing illustrations and designs for their products. After the war, she received additional instruction in watercolor from Dorner Schueler and Jake Lee. Tonetti’s watercolors depict California Scene subjects and were painted on location with transparent paints.
