Daniel Marcus Mendelowitz (1905 - 1980) Born in Linton, ND on Jan. 28, 1905. Mendelowitz's family moved to California when he was quite young. After graduating from high school in Oakland, he studied at Stanford University (M.A., 1927), ASL in NYC, and CSFA. He taught art at San Jose State College during 1927-34 and at Stanford from 1934-70. His death occurred in Palo Alto on Feb. 15, 1980. His work includes portraits and landscapes of the area around Stanford. Exh: Oakland Art Gallery, 1933; Santa Cruz Art League, 1934-46; SFMA, 1935; Calif.
