Buenos Aires Night, 1956 by Edward Reep is an original watercolor on paper. Painted on a trip around the world commissioned by Life Magazine. The artwork was painted for a special "Air Age" issue published June 18, 1956.

"Dad had 10 or 12 pages in the magazine. It was to have been 2 more but Eisenhower had a medical problem and a couple of pages had to go to that.

He went to all continents except Australia. He did not see much of Buenos Aires nor stay long. He had come from Rio de Janeiro and was going to Limatambo in Peru after Buenos Aires, but there was a polio epidemic in Buenos Aires so it was unclear if flights were even going to continue there. His hotel, which was at the airport, was a resort full of people from the city using the recreation facilities during the day, but at night everything was empty. There were no flights coming or going, so the whole thing was pretty scary because of the epidemic and he left as soon as he could."
