An original watercolor by Hardie Gramatky titled Spey River Valley, 1951. This painting was used in an advertisement for GILBEY's Spey-Royal scotch whiskey.
This painting is also available as a fine art print on Arches watercolor paper.
"During my dad's years as an illustrator, he painted this landscape of Scotland that is so beautiful. By the time the painting appeared in magazines all over the country, there was a bottle of Gilbey's Scotch and a man pasted over the reproduction of 'Spey River Valley'. Apparently there are more distilleries in Spayside, once considered part of the Highlands, that it is now considered a region all by itself in Northeast Scotland.
