Shuang Li Biography
Born, raised and classically trained in China, Shuang Li received her BA Degree in Graphic Design and Master Degree in Art History. After moving to the United States, Shuang then received her MFA (Master of Fine Art) Degree from The Department of Art, University of Oregon in 1991.
Following the traditional “En Plein Air” Impressionism approach, Shuang paints watercolors both on locations and in her studio, portrays the extraordinary variety of life with her unique perspective. With masterful classic and contemporary techniques, Shuang recreates nature’s beauty in her paintings by capturing moods and moments of light and color with her singular poetic expression.
A signature member of National Watercolor Society, and San Diego Watercolor Society, Shuang's watercolor paintings have long been favored by many private collectors, also regularly exhibited in national and international galleries and group shows, with many honorable awards. A selection of her original paintings and high-quality giclée prints are available at California Watercolor Gallery in Fallbrook, California.
With her extensive teaching background, Shuang has been regularly invited by art organizations for her popular plein air painting demonstrations, art workshops and classes, and frequently served as an invited juror for art competitions and art exhibitions.
