About Oscar Van Young
| Oscar Van Young (1906-1993) Born: Vienna, Austria; Studied: Art Academy Odessa (Russia), Academy of Fine Arts (Chicago), California State University (Los Angeles); Member: California Water Color Society. Oscar Van Young grew up in Vienna. In 1919, he received a scholarship to study art in Odessa, Russia, but after several years of instruction, fled the country because of political unrest. After traveling around Europe, he immigrated to the United States and settled in Chicago, where he continued his art education and began to exhibit his works.
