John Coakley (1918 - 1970) Born: New York City, NY; Studied: Chouinard Art Institute (Los Angeles); Member: California Water Color Society. When John Coakley was a teenager, his family moved to Southern California. After studying art in Los Angeles, he worked as an artist at the M.G.M. Studios and the Twentieth Century-Fox Studios.
