More About This Painting

Based on those in Palm Canyon, California

In 1938 the magazine Westways, published by the Automobile Club of California, commissioned Patrick to produce a series of lithographs depicting the "Native Trees of California" to be used as magazine covers from January through June of 1940. This was the first of the series and appeared as the cover of January 1940 issue. Not only is palm the most beautiful in the world, it is the largest native palm in the United States.
