More About This Painting

The story behind this dramatic piece that I was told since early childhood is that a lion got loose from a circus cage and roamed the streets of L.A. for a while. I guess it was a big news item there for a couple of days until the lion was retrieved and returned to his cage. Evidently it caught my father’s imagination.
