About Gordon Grant

Gordon Grant (1875-1962) Born in San Francisco, CA on July 7, 1875. Grant grew up in San Francisco and at age 12 sailed around the Horn to London, England to study art at the Heatherly and Lambeth Schools. Returning to his native city in the 1890s, he was an illustrator for the Examiner. He maintained a studio in NYC at 137 East 66th Street throughout most of his career, but was active in California as a member and exhibitor of the California Printmakers and California Society of Etchers.
