About Burr Singer

Burr Singer (1912-1992) Born: St. Louis, MO; Studied: St. Louis School of Fine Art, Chicago Art Institute, Art Students League (New York); Member: California Water Color Society. After studying art in St. Louis, Chicago and New York, Burr Singer went to Taos, New Mexico for several years and studied privately with Walter Ufer. She moved to Los Angeles in the late 1930s and joined the California Water Color Society. Her watercolors often depicted local people whom she felt had depth and character.
