Mildred Waters (1898 - 1991) Born in New Sharen, ME on Jan. 22, 1898. Mildred Ames moved to Riverside, CA in 1919. There she taught grade school and soon married Benjamin Waters. In 1943 she settled in Laguna Beach where she established a gallery. Primarily a watercolorist, her works show the influence of her teachers Rex Brandt and Phil Dike.

Her subjects include still lifes, scenes of California and Europe.

In 1979 she moved to her daughter's home in Portland, OR and lived there until her death on Feb. 6, 1991.
