Arthur Lonergan (1906-1989) Born: New York City, NY; Studied: Columbia University School of Architecture, Ecole des Beaux Arts (Paris); Member: American Watercolor Society, California Water Color Society. Arthur Lonergan grew up on the East Coast and was introduced to watercolor painting while studying architecture at Columbia University. He received additional art instruction in Paris, then settled in the Los Angeles area in 1935.
Lonergan made a living producing architectural renderings for clients all over the United States and taught classes in the history of architecture and interior design. He also worked for many years as an art director on motion pictures produced by Paramount, Universal and M.G.M. Studios. Throughout his life, he painted and exhibited watercolors on a national level.
